Sila Charhe (Shilachahre) has the following exact meaning. Lord Shiva is represented by Si, the Month by La, and Chaturdashi is represented by Charhe. As a result, a Chaturdashi dedicated to Lord Shiva is known as Sila Charhe (Shilachahre).
There are 24 Shivaratris in a year, with Sila Chahre (Maha Shivaratri) being the most important. On this day, Shiva is worshipped. On this day, folks take a bath and fast. People who stay awake all night are successful in all areas of their lives.
Despite the fact that every Lord Shiva temple is packed on that day, many devotees flock to the Dattatreya Temple and Doleshwor Temple along Aashapuri Mahadev, as well as Bhaktapur’s Kailashnath Mahadev at Sanga ,Yakshyeshwor Temple at Durbar Square and Yatu Mahadev at Kamalbinayak. . They all gathered at the end of the day to light a bonfire in the hopes of staying up all night.
