Wing Commander Kapil Singh was the previous name of an Indian Spiritual Guru known as Pilot Baba. Kapil Singh served in the Indian Air Force as a fighter pilot. Fighter Kapil was in battle near the NEFA line during the 1962 war when his jet lost control and contact with the base, and he had no idea where to land. The officials had given up any prospect of making contact with the commander. According to Pilot Baba, his spiritual guru, Hari Baba, came in the cockpit at that point and directed him to a safe landing. The encounter changed his life, and he withdrew from the Air Force after ten years, at the age of 33, to pursue a spiritual life. After witnessing the devastating impacts of war and human struggle, he chose this road in search of true peace. He has established ashrams throughout India as well as in other nations such as Japan and Nepal.
