Chongapakwe is located in Sallaghari in Bhaktapur Ward No.1. Being peaceful, cool, secluded and located in the center of the advisory, Morning walk attracts a lot of tourists. Despite its elevation, the Lho Hitti (Stone Spout) erected here is mystical, and there is a statue of Lord Ganesh inside the dome-asshaped temple in the central part. Chonga Gann Dyo is the local name for this Ganesh Although this Ganesh is known as Chonga Ganesh, it is Known A “Phai Dhoka Ganesh.” This Ganesh was replaced in the Phai Dhoka tole of Duwakot. Saraswati Temple, Buddha Chaitya, and For Indigenous from Thimi worshiping deities are also located in this vicinity.

There are mythical tales about this location. After a guy named Bhaju Kasaa, who used to make Bhaju Pukhu in Dudhpati,Next pond near by Siddha Pohari, cut off his head and buried it in a Paka (Empty Spot) outside the city, the name of the place was changed to Chongapakwe. Urine is referred to as Chonga, and empty space is referred to as Pakwe.

Because this region is virtually on the border of the municipalities of Bhaktapur, Madhyapur,-Thimi Suryabinayak and Changunarayan, there is no scarcity of picnickers. After marriage, residents of Bhaktapur, and Madhyapur,-Thimi are known to hold “Puja and Charthi” (a feast to feed the hardworking after a large feast). Before a marriage, Guthi, or other feast, it is customary to drag Ganesh (“Dya: Salegu”) to his residence to prepare JAAND or CHYAANG (JAAND is an Alcohol-Rice Wine locally made in the community and is used in many parties, gatherings, special and religious occasions) and to return to Ganesh after the event (“Dya: Liswanegu”). After family members return from a lengthy travel or a religious pilgrimage, it is customary to worship Ganesh and “Charthi.”
