Chandeshwori Ajima

By adding another Matrika after Ashta Matrika of Chandeshwori Ajima Temple, Bhaktapur is strengthened. It is considered to be Nava Durga's backbone. During the Vijaya Dashami, there is a particular event called Chandeshwori Jatra is thought to be a copy of Banepa's Chandeshwari.

Chandeshwori Temple A three-story pagoda-style edifice built in a corner of the Tibukchhen tole street between the residences.
Chandeshwori  shrine is regarded as the living Goddess Kumari’s place too. N.S. 833 and N.S. 854. King Ranjit Malla and the people built the historical Chandeshwori  temple.

The magnificent temple of Goddess Chandeshwori can be situated in Chasukhel, Ward No. 5 (Five) in Bhaktapur Municipality. Anyone who looks at the Golden Foofed Temple with 2 (Two) Peacock statues is mesmerized. This temple is one of the oldest in the valley. Goddness Parvati took the form of Goddness Chandeshwori in order to defeat the Chandashur Demon.

Goddness Chandeshwori is also said to be Kathmandu’s Swetkali’s daughter (Naradevi). After destroying the monster, the Gods with Processions went to heaven. Chandeshwori Jatra commemorates this day. This Jatra is unique in that it takes place on the day before Baisakh Shukla Purnima. Goddness Chandeshwori is known as Chasudyo in Newar Community , and Chasu Punhi is the day on which Chasudyo Jatra is performed.

Furthermore, Goddness Chandeshwori Jatra , is well-known as  Banepa Jatra.  Goddness Chandeshwori Jatra in Banepa will not begin until the Bhaktapur Goddness Chandeshwori‘s flowers and offerings have started.
