Nepal, a Hindu country with over 80% Hindus, has temples dedicated to various gods and goddesses at every turn. Pathibhara Devi temple, is one of the many temples famous among worshippers for granting their desires. Pathivara Devi,the temple is one of Nepal‘s most important temples, which originally located on top of the Taplejung hills in Taplejung district at an altitude of 3794mt.Pathivara Devi temple at the eastern corner of Gundu Village in Bhaktapur district is replica of Taplejung Pathivara Devi.
The Goddess of Pathibhara is said to provide her devotees’ long-cherished wishes, such as sons for those without sons and wealth for the destitute. Pathivara Devi is one of the ‘Shakti Peeths,’ or sacred sites. Worshippers come from all across valley who can’t reach Pathibhara located at Taplejung to visit the temple on significant occasions, as it is believed that a pilgrimage to the temple will grant the pilgrim’s every wish.
The pilgrims are prohibited to sacrifice animals but other offerings allows.
